To help celebrate CT Beer Week, we are teaming up with the folks at Beer'd Brewing to offer an exclusive opportunity to take part in a night of craft beer, gourmet food, and good company. But space is limited so get your tickets online now.
The event will feature a three course meal by Greg Alessi, paired with three hand crafted beers from Beer'd Brewing (Wit, Black IPA, and American Pale Ale *NEW). The meal will be followed by a social hour with more beer (or coffee if you prefer) and deserts by Zest Fresh Pastry.
Greg Alessi is a chef hailing from Syracuse, NY he currently lives in Mystic, CT with his fiancée. He has spent over eight years in professional kitchens ranging from New York City to Nantucket to Colorado. His time in New York City includes two years as a sous chef for Bobby Flay at his flagship Mesa Grill. Working seasonally in Nantucket, MA over the past three summers at the iconic Straight Wharf Restaurant piloted by Gabriel Frasca (Best New Chef Boston Magazine 2004) and Amanda Lydon (Best New Chef NE Food and Wine 2004), he has settled in the Stonington, CT area. He finds his inspiration from locally sourced food, from sustainable produce to seafood. His menu promises to marry the true flavors of Connecticut spring with the beers brewed by Aaren Simoncini at Beer’d.
The Event's Menu:
First: American crudo of black bass* and local vegetables and vinaigrette.
Second: Spring carrot soup with bittersweet salad
Third: Roasted Strip Loin with asparagus and mushroom
*Seafood selection and other menu items may change based on the availability of fresh local food.
Zest Fresh Pastry is an artisanal bakery located in the Velvet Mill in Stonington, Connecticut. Zest focuses on using fresh and local ingredients to create a uniquely superior product. They are inspired directly by what is in season and growing in the local farms and gardens, incorporating fresh herbs and spices as well as using as many local and fresh produce as possible. They desire to surprise and excite your senses while you are enjoying our pastries.
Their dessert platter will be an array of small bites perfectly paired with each beer, some of which will even be made with Beer'd brews.
