Feeling Ripped off by Plan B West Hartford and New England Brewing!

First off, I'll say it again, I love plan B.  By far, the best local restaurant in West Hartford thanks to great beer, awesome bartenders and good food.  After living here for 3 years, I'm heading back to Boston and I'll miss Plan B.

With that said, I feel totally robbed of the $25 I spent on a ticket (plus a tip)  for the Earth Day cask event today.. .

The event was advertised as running from 2:00-6:00.  $25 for dry hopped IPA cask (unitll it runs out and a buffet.  I showed up at 3:55 and the Cask was gone.  So what did I pay $25.00 for?  Two -8oz glasses of Elm City lager!   Boring, very boring for someone who came for a dry-hopped IPA on cask.    I'm sorry but it's a very un-interesting beer.   Not a bad beer just not noteworthy.     After my second 8 oz glass, that keg ran out and there was no more beer included in my 25 buck ticket.  No more beer included in the $25 price of the ticket.  Really?

There was a buffet that was comparable to a free happy hour buffet.  Not worth the rest of the 25 bucks.

I could have (and should have)  just showed up without buying a ticket, had 2 Good beers, like the Lagunita's WTF and a Southern Tier Gemini and an appetizer and still be $5 to $10 ahead.   Oh, and the beers would have been in bigger glasses.

It’s worth noting that someone I know had a little bit of the featured New England Brewing dry-hopped IPA left in their glass. They gave me a swig.  It was awesome even if it was 50% backwash.

I'd love to see Plan B start stat to bring  in casks  on a regular basis.  Just sell them by the glass...skip the ticket thing.

Hey NE Brewing,  bring a couple more casks kegs next time.  Please.

So... you show up 2 hrs into a KILL the cask event  and expect there to be some left? Let me ask you if you show up to a baseball game in the 5th inning do you make them replay the innings over?  I think you have to understand the concept before pointing fingers.  Most if not all cask events I have ever attended have kicked the cask in less than and hour... perhaps next time you'll think about coming earlier.

Perhaps next time i won't waste my 25 bucks.

These kill the cask events usually do just that, and rather quickly

Being said - NEBCO ran out of beer at a recent beer fest loooong before anyone else.

Popular or not enough supply?
Isn't there any bars around here that regularly have a cask pumped?  I know of one in NYC - http://www.thelongroomnyc.com/ - that has a great beer list that includes a cask!
I know Cask Republic in New Haven has a beer always on cask.  I had a Old Hollowing Bastard from Blue Point this past friday
oh yea, dont go to beer events late. period. cask or otherwise. 1. youre wasting your money and 2. therye may not be any beer left as you now know.
but 20 or 25 bux for a 1 cask event is terrible.
