CT Beer Trail

Hey Everyone,

I just joined the website and its great to find an organization like this that supports beer here in Connecticut.

Anywho, I've been brewing beer in the Mr. Beer Kits for a number of years now and each year (batch) I get better and better at it. (According to family and friends)
So what do you all think of the Mr. Beer Kits? Eventually I'll go to a more advanced kit but I'm not ready for it yet haha.

Have a nice day.

I use a Mr. Beer kit, but I tend to make my own recipes. The one problem I find with the Mr. Beer kit is that it's hard to revise a recipe because theirs are so...rigid. I've done it a couple times and they turn out okay, just not what I had hoped. That being said, I like how easy the Mr. Beer kits make homebrewing. It's an awesome start up kit.

Vinni you should head out to your local home brew shop this week and either try a more advance kit, or work with the store staff to make your own recipe.  Plenty of great shops around the state to choose from.  Lots of smart folks who can assist you.

I too started with a Mr. Beer kit which sparked my passion for home brewing. I agree with Bryon, a local homebrew store will be an asset and wealth of knowledge. Try an extract class or pick up a couple of books. I read and love How To Brew by John Palmer. This hobby can be as simple or complex as you would like. Experiment and enjoy!
