"Fishy, indeed.  There is astoundingly little information on Whaler Ale on the web.  There are nebulous ties to both Anheuser-Busch (the best being the below Examiner article) and Harpoon.  However, Harpoon hasn't responded to an…"

With St. Patrick’s Day approaching, I’m wondering how enthusiasts feel about green beer.  Is it a colorful commemoration of the Irish in all of us, or beer blasphemy?  I’d imagine depraved consumption of dyed suds could be sacrilege in the eyes of some who hold a deep respect for the art of brewing.

But to me, any holiday or practice to which beer has become so tied can only be good.  Whether it comes from a room temperature cask, is served in das boot, or is blended with food…

Connecticut Brewery Passport Challenge?

Whaler Ale

Does anyone know who brews Whaler Ale?  I had it at Nikita's in Middletown, but neither they nor the Hartford Civic Center could tell me where it's brewed.

Joe, I'm a semi regular at Cambridge House, as my day job is down the road a bit. Did you happen to meet Scott the owner? Great guy... What did you have for food while you were there? Next time you're there tell them CT Beer Trail sent you...
