Green beer…revelation or abomination?

With St. Patrick’s Day approaching, I’m wondering how enthusiasts feel about green beer. Is it a colorful commemoration of the Irish in all of us, or beer blasphemy? I’d imagine depraved consumption of dyed suds could be sacrilege in the eyes of some who hold a deep respect for the art of brewing.
But to me, any holiday or practice to which beer has become so tied can only be good. Whether it comes from a room temperature cask, is served in das boot, or is blended with food…
Continue Connecticut Brewery Passport Challenge?

I know the CT Beer Trail is in its infancy, but a program similar to Vermont's Passport Challenge http://brewersvt.com/passport could be a real draw. As soon as I discovered this program at the Vermont house at the Big E last year, I knew a trip on the Vermont brewery trail was a must. Each place I visited commented on how much their breweries and pubs were benefiting from the program. We met all kinds of people getting their passports stamped… Continue

Does anyone know who brews Whaler Ale? I had it at Nikita's in Middletown, but neither they nor the Hartford Civic Center could tell me where it's brewed.
